PROJECTS

Invasive Species Treatment at Mississippi Coastal Preserves

LOCATION

Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties, MS

ECOSYSTEMS

Pine Savannah, Bottomland Hardwood, Freshwater Marsh

SOLUTION

Survey, map and treat both large and small parcels for invasive and exotic species.

Invasive species can cause significant damage to ecosystems by colonizing and overwhelming native plant and tree species, causing harm to the overall vegetative structure and creating devastating impacts to biodiversity.

ECO|RESTORE has both mapped and successfully treated thousands of acres at over fifteen separate parcels within the Mississippi Coastal Preserves for invasive species such as Chinese Tallow, Japanese climbing fern, sesbania and cogon grass, setting the stage for native flora and fauna to thrive and yielding long-term benefits for the natural systems and the local communities that depend on them.
